Nature and adventure in everyday life

It doesn't have to be a holiday or weekend for you to enjoy energizing activities in nature. Instead, maximize your everyday life with small and large experiences, before or after work! It's good for both body and soul.

Nature is always open, every day of the year, every hour of the day. And you don't have to wait until the weekend or that long-anticipated vacation or holiday to enjoy outdoor adventures. There are plenty of fun and relaxing things to do in the local area, even when the rat race is in full swing and the days are full of obligations. Don't end up on the TV sofa after work; reduce stress and enjoy yourself by maximizing everyday life instead!

Many people probably can relate to the feeling of stress in keeping up with everyday life. The commute to the office, a full workday maybe spent in front of the computer, and then rushing home to the children's activities, cooking and all the other must-dos. And it's only Tuesday, a long way to the weekend! But why wait until Saturday to find breaks and opportunities to brighten up your day?

A better start to the day

In summer, the sun rises early and the days are long. A good tip is to stop and take a break on your commute to work. Maybe find a small green space on the road, by the water or at the edge of a forest. Pack your backpack with a sandwich, a seat pad and some coffee or tea and simply take a moment’s pause from your daily routine. And as we all know, food tastes better in nature!

The Primus Slurken (link) is a vacuum-insulated mug that keeps your coffee hot and is perfect for when you're on the go. It's also a much more sustainable option than the takeaway cup from the coffee shop. The Primus Cup (link) is also a good option for those short weekday breaks in the green.

If you have a little more time to stop and have breakfast on the way to work, an excellent tip is to pack the Primus Preppen (link) food jug. It can be filled with hot porridge and topped with dried fruit and nuts for a perfect, energizing start to the day.

At the end of the workday

If you feel that the need for nature's peace and quiet can't wait for the weekend, there's plenty of time to go on an adventure after the workday is over. Nature is often closer than you think, no matter where you live. Take a walk or bike ride in the nearest forest area to clear your mind. Pick up tonight's dinner and eat or cook it on the stove. With the Primus Essential Stove Set (link) you can both boil and fry your food. The stove is lightweight and can pack into almost any backpack. A soup and some fresh bread or sausage and macaroni is quick to prepare and is guaranteed to taste better at a small lake in the forest than at home at the kitchen table.

If you bring your children out into nature after school or preschool, there is always plenty to do. The forest is the best playground there is, with many plants, animals, and places to discover. A simple obstacle course over logs and stones or a small quiz with forest insects and animals are always popular.

And if you want to take the adventure to the next level, you can also spend the evening and night in nature. Pack your sleeping bags and mats and pitch your tent in a beautiful spot. Imagine falling asleep to the chirping of birds and the sound of the forest. Waking up, eating breakfast, and taking a refreshing morning swim before work, school and kindergarten begin. You can hardly get a better start to the day.

We know that it can sometimes be difficult to get started and find those moments in everyday life. It may sound dull, but this requires some active planning and that you push yourself a bit to create new routines. But soon, once the small excursions are a natural part of everyday life, these moments in nature can become both easier and more frequent.
